Bear's Den: "Like the Deer... Americans Are Herding for Protection"

Umm, the Eccentric Moon. It´s a time of telling signs; signs of the eccentricity of papoonwi (winter). The ice is forming thicker on the lakes, the coyotes have to hunt in daylight and the snows are coming heavier. But it is the deer that are the most telltale. The deer have all herded, and like the American two-leggeds nowadays in this country… they do it for safety.

Merriam-Webster´s Dictionary defines the word eccentric as:

1.) a: deviating from an established or usual pattern or style b: deviating from conventional or accepted usage or conduct especially in odd or whimsical ways

Uh-huh, and whimsical…. is a good way to put how our nation is presently being governed. Every day, it is erratic, fanciful and subject to unpredictable change – some of it down-right outrageous and anti-American. This eccentricity and whimsy is what Americans wanted… I suppose… when they elected Obama and those that run him. Nah… I guess not. I´m figuring that most folks never expected half of the garbage that this administration has done, is doing or plans to do. But safety is a concern for any breathing creature upon the Earth Mother. The deer herd in the winter to protect themselves from the icy wind and predators. And so… are the American two-leggeds… beginning to herd… for protection.

As the Eccentric Moon arrives, pesh-ik-the (deer) yard up, or congregate, in groups for safety. Just like you´ve always been told, there´s safety in numbers. It´s much easier to fend off an attack if you have help, eh. So, they group together for warmth and security. They bunch jointly in areas that offer protection from the elements – thick swamps, dense pine woods and similar places that cut the frigid wind. Food is scarce during winter and deer depend on stored fat within their bodies to survive the lean months. So it is that the longer and harsher the winter is the more deer that will die from a combination of starvation and the demands papoonwi places on them. But the enemy of cold and starvation is only part of threat they face. Predators seek them out, too… just… like they do Americans.

A whitetail deer can run at 36 mph when there´s no snow. But, they´re hampered greatly, and are slowed tremendously with the deep conee (snow). Not only does it slow their escape. but deep snows makes them relegated to only a small number of trails made by the deer herd. Yeah… and so the parallel between deer, this Eccentric Moon and Americans is clear to me. Ordinarily, Americans can use their wit, strength and ability to combat terrorism and protect themselves… when there is no winter-like blizzard of governmental mismanagement falling upon them. But when this storm of white-out proportions falls around us, we… like the deer… are in mortal danger. Such has been the case with the numerous terrorist attacks ´within´ this country, since we elected this actor and those who run him. So over the past eleven months, many Americans have been herding, too, and the overall herd... grows larger every day. Yep, American two-leggeds, nowadays in this country… are grouping together for their safety from a severe winter and predator known… as the federal government.
