Interview with James R. Goldberg, the author of "The American Medical Money Machine"

About James R. Goldberg

James R. Goldberg, has served as a senior level executive and CEO with deep experience in running early and mid-stage technologically complex businesses with a major focus in health care. He has been a Principal of one of the world´s leading technology/business consultancies, the PA Consulting Group, based in London, England.

The author has been primarily involved, as a biomedical engineer and technologist, in developing medical technologies for surgery, drug delivery and diagnostics.

He served as contracted Executive Director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories health care initiative, a U.S. Defense Research Laboratory program aimed at converting military technology into medical technology, Jim has invented over 12 technologies that have received U.S. and International Patents.

Goldberg earned his advanced degrees. along with other post graduate degrees at Michigan State University, New York University, Stanford University and European study programs including the Sorbonne, France, The University of Mainz,The University of Jena, Germany and the University of Madrid, Spain.

When and why did you begin writing?

UPON DISCOVERING THAT THE MURDER OF MY SON WAS ACTUALLY TIED TO A MUCH LARGER PLOT...THE

DESTRUCTION OF HEALTHCARE IN AMERICA.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

WHEN I WAS IN COLLEGE. AS A POET. THEN, IN BUSINESS--FRAMING COMPLEX PROBLEMS IN UNDERSTANDABLE AND LOGICAL TERMS.

What inspired you to write your first book?

THE NEED TO PROTECT AND INFORM OTHERS ABOUT INFORMATION WHICH MOST SIMPLY DO

Do you have a specific writing style?

PERSONAL AND NARRATIVE.

How did you come up with the title?

WHEN I REALIZED THAT CONSPIRACIES ARE POSSIBLE...BOTH IMPLICIT AND EXPLICIT...AND THAT THERE IS AN ETHIC OF GREED WHICH HAS PERMEATED OUR SOCIETY AT THE EXPENSE OF THE SACRED RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DOCTOR AND PATIENT. GREED IN THE U.S. KILLS EVERY DAY AND EVERY HOUR AND EVERY MINUTE. WE CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT IGNORE THIS. IT MUST BE REVERSED AS THE LEGACY OF THE UNITED STATES. I REALIZED THAT THE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES I HAD IN DEALING WITH THE MURDER OF MY SON WERE FOR A REASON...TO EXPOSE THE AMERICAN MEDICAL MONEY MACHINE AND TO TELL THE STORY OF DESTRUCTION OF HEALTHCARE IN AMERICA.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

YES. IT'S ABOUT ALL OF US! WE ARE ALL IN DANGER OF LOSING OUR FREEDOM AND THE VERY BASIS ON WHICH OUR SOCIETY WAS CONSTRUCTED.

How much of the book is realistic?

ALL OF IT.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

THE BOOK WAS INSPIRED BY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES AND IS BASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. THE STORY IS TOLD AS A PERSONALIZED PIECE OF INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM. HOWEVER, I DID NOT REPORT ON SOMETHING AS AN OUTSIDER. I REPORTED ON WHAT I DISCOVERED THROUGH PERSONAL DEALINGS WITH GOVERNMENT, INDUSTRY, POLICE, POLITICIANS ETC. IN THAT SENSE, THE AMERICAN MEDICAL MONEY MACHINE IS AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL.

I AM WRITING A NOVEL CALLED SANCTURARY. IT DEALS WITH HOW THE LEADERS OF MAJOR WORLD

GOVERNMENTS, LED BY THE UNITED STATES, ARE CONSOLIDATING A NEW WORLD ORDER AND POWER.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

SADLY, NONE.

I SEE THE DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION AS MY CAREER.

THE RING OF TRUTH

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

WRITING OF NON FICTION IS A SERIOUS AND EXACTING BUSINESS. IT IS HARD TO DO, TIRING AND OFTEN FRUSTRATING. TELLING A COMPLEX STORY IN SIMPLE TERMS IS A NON TRIVIAL PURSUIT!
