If all of the other industrialized countries have Universal Health Care and the quality of care is the same for all what is wrong with our congress in it's lame attempt to reform our outdated, inefficient, blotted, and corrupted way the medical insurance providers are run? If the current legislation remains intact and passes the Senate the public, business, and the rest of the private sector in the United States are not going to be any better off than we are today. In fact businesses will be force to pay higher fees for insurance they already provide their employees; which means a continuing contraction of goods, services and the quality of materials used. A new phrase today for tomorrow is " pay more and get less" will be the norm for all goods and services produced or manufactured. This only enhances the continuing economic retardation through-out the country.
Is every legislator so blind and corrupted by the insurance lobbyists that they just can't see what they are trying to pass only places more of a financial burden on families, individuals, and business in every sector of our society?
Total reform is Universal Health Care. The late Senator Kennedy realized this back in the 1970's and spent the rest of his life trying to persuade other legislators that the only way to achieve economic stability, growth, and national security is by implementing a single payer Universal Health Care system into this country. Now look at the legislation coming out of congress today. All this legislation attempts to achieve is a "half baked" form of appeasement to the medical insurance lobbyists. Not for the welfare of the general public.
There are numerous ways to provide the funding for Universal Health Care. But non of our current legislators are willing to step up to the plate and sponsor legislation that would ease the financial burden on every American, rich or poor, to provide the funding so that Universal Health Care can become a reality. The President also must provide more opportunities for legislation to pass by creating momentum through a grass roots campaign much like the one that carried him into office. The American public has to realize that congress is only through this legislation is undermining the future of the United States. Only through total Reform a single payer Universal Health Care system will help bring a new era of prosperity for every American.
If the President when he first took office realized that only total National Economic Reform is the way to guide this nation out of the economic crisis surrounding almost every American this country would now be headed toward that brighter future. There is still time to act but decisive legislation must be introduced and by educating all Americans of the consequences of not implementing not only Universal Health Care but total National Economic Reform's eight part agenda the dawning of a new beginning for the United States will never be fulfilled.
