Best Digital Camera Set-Up For Real Estate

Sam Chapman
If you´re in real estate, you have to have a digital camera. You just do. You need a camera for photographing listings and fliers. You need a camera to take photos for your website or blog. So how is one supposed to decide on the best one to get and whether or not to have any accessories and how do you learn how to improve your digital photography skills?

What features does a real estate agent need in a digital camera? A wide angle lens for interior photos is a necessity. Many rooms are just so small it is difficult to get a decent photo at all. A digital camera should be small and light enough that is easy to carry around. It should have a decent amount of memory and a slot for a memory card. Different settings for simple photos, low light photos, action photos, close-up photos and other settings are very nice to have. Having built-in video is also a plus. It may not be the best quality, but you never know when a video opportunity will pop up.

What accessories besides a memory card or to should go along with a digital camera? A mini tripod is nice to have. They are compact, fit into an accessory bag and can offer camera stabilization when it is needed. Extra rechargeable batteries and a charger are a must. Several memory cards are nice to have on hand. An accessory bag is also nice to have. How about a waterproof accessory bag?

What else? In addition to the camera, how about some basic instruction? The user manual will usually contain great information, but it can be difficult to interpret. A good e book on taking great digital photos can go a long way as well.

So get out there and learn, then experiment. You can save a lot of money by taking your own digital photos and not hiring a photographer.
