Taking Great Digital Photos
Your first step to taking great digital photos is knowing the basics of your digital camera. To get started, actually read all or part of the user manual. I know that many people don´t like to do this, but there is great information in a user manual. If you are just interested in action shots, look for the rapid burst setting. If all you want is good close-up photos, look for the macro mode. If you are interested in taking photos of far away objects, learn about the digital and optical zoom features. Understand your flash settings. There is a setting to eliminate red eyes when taking digital photos of people and animals. You can also get some great daytime effects using the flash even if in full sunlight.
Your second step is getting out there and experimenting with your digital camera. If you want to photograph landscapes, go out and take some photos. Try different settings for the same shot. You might want to write down setting changes for each photo so you can review the results later and actually know what you changed.
The great thing about taking digital photos is that you can take lots of them if you have enough memory in the camera or on a memory card in the camera. You can also download to your computer and simply throw away any that you don´t like. Then you can sump the photos from the memory card and start over.
