If you are thinking of a short outing, Godawari can be one of the options for you. Godawari is located in South belt of Lalitpur district, 10 Kilometer south from Kathmandu. You will find this place mesmerising where varieties of flowers will be smiling at you.

It won't be otherwise if you name it "Capital of the Flowers". Are you interested at the study of bio-diversity? No problem. There are so many plants the name of which you might not have heard. Godawari is itself a botanic garden.

Godawari is quiet and peaceful spot for a walk or just for a picnic. If you are interested to write literature and searching a company of nature, Godawari will be the best place where your emotions will be recollected in the tranquility.

Godawari Kunda (Pond) is one of the attractions for the visitors. Godavari has a sacred spring and the hill behind it. Every year, 12 thousands pilgrims visit Godawari for holy bathe. Pulchowki Mai Temple and Shanti Ban Buddha are other spots to visit in Godavari. Shanti Ban Buddha has a huge golden statue of Buddha.


In Godavari, there are many other things to see and few of them are the Shrine of Bishankhu Narayan which is one of the most important shrines in the valley. Phulchowk i Mountain is 2760m High Mountain which is the highest point around the valley from where magnificent views can be enjoyed. Phulchowki is famous as a home of 570 species of flower plants. One third of all the birds of Nepal and last surviving cloud forest can be found in Phulchowki. Phulchowki Mountain is more famous for its spring-seasoned flowers particularly red and white rhododendrons.

There are many ways to reach Godavari, just take a local bus from Lagankhel or Satdobato. You will reach Godawari after a one hour drive. Visitors can also spend few days in resorts at Godawari.

Either for dating, picnic or any short outing, Godawari visit will make your break joyful.
