American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR AED Classes in Palm Beach County Florida

Keith W Murray
Palm Beach County Florida - The CPR School offers the American Heart Association CPR AED BLS for Heatlhcare provider training certification classes at our Palm Beach County classroom. Keith Murray, owner of The CPR School, LLC is also the lead instructor. Keith indicates that they try to make their classes interesting with real world examples. We start most classes by asking how many of our students have used CPR or AEDs before in real medical emergencies? We then ask those students to share real world examples with the class. The reality of having to use CPR and an AED makes people realize, this could be me saving someone, I need to really pay attention.

1. What is the name of the class – American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Course

Course Description - The American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals as well as students preparing to enter these the medical field or public safety field.

2. Who should take this class?

Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMT´s - emergency medical technicians, optometrist, ophthalmologist, dentists, periodontist, dental assistants, dental hygienists, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, CNA´s, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, lifeguards and other allied health personnel. Basically anyone in the healthcare or public safety field.

3. Does this satisfy my CPR AED requirement for the nursing program or EMT program?

Yes, we train a lot of students that have been accepted into both PBCC and IRSC. Our courses satisfy the requirements for the EMT, Nursing and Dental programs at both Palm Beach Community College and Indian River State College (Indian River Community College).

4. How long is the course?

The course is approximately 4½ hours. However, students requiring additional assistance can remain after class for additional 1 on 1 with the instructors at no additional charge. Because we are teaching life saving skills to healthcare providers we encourage students to ask questions, we encourage students to stay after class if they are not comfortable with their skills and we encourage students to call or e-mail us after the class is over with any questions they think of after they leave the classroom.

5. What type of CPR card will be issued and when will I get it?

Upon successful completion of the class students will be issued an American Heart Association BLS – Healthcare Provider Course Completion Card that is good for 2 years.

Please note – many schools and hospitals are very specific about what type of certification you receive. Many of the online programs are not widely accepted. Our AHA BLS HCP program is widely accepted and should satisfy your CPR AED requirements.

Yes, we provide CPR AED training for employees from many of the area hospitals. Below are just a few of the local hospitals in our area. 7. What makes your classes different from other classes?

We strive to make the classes both interesting and entertaining while encouraging students to participate, ask questions and think about real life saving situations. Unlike some CPR programs, all of our instructors have real life experience using CPR and AEDs. We talk about real life situations. Plus, our lead instructors are full time insured employees of The CPR School. Another difference, in all classes students are trained on at least two different AEDs. We feel that it is important that all students are exposed to several makes and models of AED. This increases their confidence level should they be required to use an AED in an emergency situation.
