Indio, CA – In an effort to expand opportunities for local job seekers, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) hosted a job fair at the Workforce Development Center in Indio. Attended by over 700 residents, the job fair helped connect local employers, ranging from the service and hospitality industry to health care, with individuals looking for jobs.

"With so many individuals actively seeking jobs in our community, this job fair was an important opportunity to help connect people who need work with local employers who are hiring," said Bono Mack. "I am hopeful that many of those who attended today´s event were able to get the job they need or gain valuable experience that will put them a step ahead in these tough economic times.

"As we continue to face record unemployment in Riverside County and across the country, it is all the more critical that we work together to support pro-growth policies and local projects that will turn our economy around and get people back to work.

"I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress, state and local leaders and residents to enhance opportunities and ensure growth and development in our community."

A wide variety of employers with hundreds of job openings participated in the job fair, offering job openings in industries including service and hospitality, health care and care-giving, as well as communications, security and the military.
