Barrel Hallways and Ceiling Barrels: An Extreme Makeover Home Edition True Life Experience

In December of 2008 Archways and Ceilings Made Easy had the wonderful opportunity of participating in the Extreme Makeover Home Edition show filmed out in Keller, TX. Steve Wall of Wall Homes was the builder picked to build this huge house in 106 hours for a family in need of a little help. As we have dominated the DFW market for curved framing applications, Steve asked if we would be willing to donate some product and our time to this project. We whole-heartedly agreed to supply several arched windows, transitions and barrel hallways for what would be a wonderful new home for the Augustin Family.

The Augustin family was chosen to have their house rebuilt because their home was destroyed in a flood and they were a family in need of a miracle. Having experienced a premature baby and a house-hold over run by flood waters it was time for a little good luck to come their way. The family also had a history of being strong advocates for the March of Dimes (an organization that helps fight for the survival of premature babies) and Habitat for Humanity.

Archways and Ceilings was able to pitch in and help build this beautiful home by donating the interior and exterior archways and barrel ceilings. As time was of the essence (demolition and a complete rebuild was accomplished in only 106 hours working around the clock), Archways and Ceilings was able to install more than a dozen arches and two barrel hallways in less than an hour with the use of only one framer. (In real custom home building projects, this labor savings really adds up!)
