(Orange County, CA) Shalon Rogers who hosts Radio Disney will be interviewing Dr. Powers Griffin and author Rhonda Fischer on her new book Randy Kazandy, Where Are Your Glasses? This book has marveled hundreds of children from New York to California, Paris, France to New Zealand. It is about a whimsical little boy who needs to get glasses for the first time. Scared of what his friends might say he tries all his clever ways to ditch those pesky things. Every child wants to fit in and not be teased about being different. Randy Kazandy, with the help of his parents, and the good Dr. Bee triumphantly over turn Randy's fears. Brought to you by Whim Publishing in Orange County, CA Randy Kazandy, Where Are Your Glasses is written in musical rhyme, and beautifully illustrated by Kim Sponaugle that is capturing he hearts of children nationwide.

Dr. Griffin will be answering the questions on Radio Disney about wearing glasses, and how to tell if your child needs an exam. On the radio show he explained that eating healthy keeps the eyes healthy. Adding carrots, blueberries and fresh fruits and vegetables indeed help keep the retina in tip top shape. Dr. Griffin also pointed out that looking at the sun can cause damage even with sun glasses on. Also when watching TV kids should be at least two bodies length from the screen. The myth of crossing your eyes does not keep your eyes crossed, but is not a healthy practice, states Griffin. Taking a break every 30 minutes from TV and computer use was also a great tip explained by Dr. Griffin. Eighty percent of learning is viewed through our eyes, with 25% of children needing glasses.
