85% of Indiana Democrats want a public option.
Joseph -
The last couple of weeks have been intense.
On Saturday, we earned five reasons to be proud: All five Democratic members of Indiana's Congressional delegation voted for healthcare reform with a public option. The House of Representatives made history by passing "The Affordable Health Care for America Act," marking the first major step towards a comprehensive overhaul of a broken healthcare system.
Now it's up to the Senate, where Harry Reid will present their version of the bill. A new poll shows that most Hoosiers want a public option and Sen. Evan Bayh has noticed, stating that it was extraordinarily unlikely that he would filibuster healthcare reform.
Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, telling them that Hoosiers want the choice of a public option
We know that Evan Bayh wants a fiscally responsible bill, and that inclusion of a public option saves us money. We also know that as long as Sen. Bayh remains committed to passing healthcare reform with a public option, Hoosiers have his back! In the poll commissioned by Democracy for America and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, it was revealed that 85% of Indiana Democrats want a public option along with 59% of independents and 20% of Republicans.
Write a letter to the editor backing Sen. Bayh's commitment to passing real healthcare reform with a public option
This is it. This is the last stretch. Senator Bayh needs to know if he votes for the public option, we'll throw all of our support behind him.
We can make this happen. We're making it happen.
