Los Angeles Dodgers Couple Taking Their Differences to Court

Aaron Wilmot
Have you heard about the owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, Frank and Jamie McCourt getting divorced? Yep, after twenty-five years of marriage they apparently canīt seem to reconcile their differences.

Iīll bet Frank hated it when Jamie began to air all their financial laundry, such as the fact that they are worth an estimated $1.2 billion, plus the value of the team, the stadium, and the land surrounding it, which is worth another $800 million! Maybe it brings a little blush to their cheeks for Americans struggling for their very financial survival to read about their lifestyle, with $5,000 hotel suites, and $400 restaurant tabs. Oh well, no injury, no harm, right? Jaime wants $487,634 in alimony (I think thatīs now known as "spousal support"), but only $320,967 if she gets the job back that Frank just fired her from: namely chief executive of the Los Angeles Dodgers. I suppose that was just adding insult to injury. It does not sound like a job with a lot of work involved since the GM handles most of the important business such as trades and pay negotiation, etc. I mean, I doubt she would have need a Los Angeles work injury attorney any time soon, except maybe for a paper cut.

The list of their assets involved in the battle just run on like no tomorrow: Two homes in Holmby Hills (one is never enough), two Malibu beach homes, one estate in Cape Cod (guess they donīt like Cape Cod as much), properties in Montana, Cabo San Lucas, and just one condominium in Vail, Colorado. Total worth: about $110 million, according to Jamie.

By the way, the smaller of the two amounts that Jamie asks for in the case she is reinstated to her job, would need to include access to private jets and unlimited money for travel.
