First Fixed RFID Reader With Wi-Fi, GPRS, and Bluetooth Launched by Invengo

eWorldWire
HERNDON, Va./ Invengo Technology Corporation adds to its reader product range with the release of the UHF Gen 2 860E.

A high performance RFID reader with unprecedented mobile data capability, the 860E reader delivers all the functionality that is expected from a top range reader with the addition of Wi-Fi, GPRS, and Bluetooth.

The 860E mobile data function allows the reader to communicate by connecting to a local area network or cellular link, producing two key benefits:

Big savings on installation cost. The Invengo 860E does not require the automatic use of an Ethernet data cable thereby generating huge potential savings in material and labor during installation.

Mobility. Connect the reader to a power supply, plug in the antenna, and users are ready to go. The 860E is ideal where there is a requirement for mobile functionality from a powerful reader such as in a library application or when readers are required to run on a mobile platform. Move the reader to a new location whenever necessary. The 860E will operate wherever there is power and a wireless data connection, so it can be moved to different locations within a standard RFID environment.

Incorporating the Impinj Indy processor, the 860E works in dense reader mode, provides advanced filtering techniques, and supports multiple protocols. Full data can be found in the products' section of the Invengo Web site at Invengo.com ('http://www.invengo.com').

"We see the 860E reader as creating a revolution in the RFID markets, as customers can now look to use their wireless networks to transmit RFIDdata," said Philip Calderbank, Invengo VP Sales & Marketing. "What's more, the reader is priced to be one of the most competitive in its class. It's the latest addition to our family of UHF ISO 18,000 6C (Gen 2) and 6B readers. Invengo is well known for having developed an extensive passive UHF system for the Chinese Railway. That system demands high performance reading of fast trains in an environment where there is a lot of metal and liquid, and we are now benefiting by commercializing Invengo technologies which were originally designed for this railway program."

Available only for the American and Asia markets at this time with immediate shipping from Herndon, Va., USA.
