The Affiliate Marketer - A Quiet and Confident Fellow

There he is, standing in the middle of a social gathering of friends and workmates, and everyone is talking about how 'friggin' much everything costs these days, like gas! The talk is laced with expletives deleted, as the high cost of energy affects everyone, and most of these people he is talking to are professionals and they earn a good salary, but their disposable income is being eaten away by all the cost factors. The talk goes on and on, until the action moves to another area.
He is calm, quiet and unconcerned by inflation, energy costs, the rising interest rate for money in the market, and all of it. He is able to handle the increased costs just fine. Of course, even though he has a secret way of dealing with all the increased costs of living, he too wishes the costs would go down, and he could keep more of that hard earned income! But, the fact remains that he will be heading to the Bahamas for his holiday this year, while most of his workmates will be going to the local bar.
What is his secret? How does this young man keep up with all the problems? How does he find the money to pay the extra costs? Well, he would gladly tell his workmates at the big telecom company where he works, but most people that he attempts to tell are not interested in the process he describes. The system he is involved in is called "Affiliate Marketing", and he is an affiliate of many companies who pay him every month, and sometimes weekly, for his efforts in selling their goods and services online. At this point, he works at the office during the day, and works on his affiliate business at home on his computer in the evening.
Yes, the calm quiet affiliate standing in the middle of the talkative work group, quietly listening and grinning, shaking his head in agreement, knowing he has the money to pay his bills and then some, and that he is not better than his firends, but is in a place of understanding and wisdom that they simply will not accept. It is somehow under their radar, and outside of their interest areas. Many of these young people he works with could be earning more money, but they are not interested in learning how. They would rather complain, and then go to a party or whatever.

I personally have tried to tell others in social gatherings about what I do, but I get that familiar blank expression followed by a quick change of subject, making me the quiet guy in the crowd too. In fact, the nice quiet young man in my story above is really someone just like me, only I truly am not young. However, I went to the Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas in January 2006, and most of the folks there were young, mid twenties to early forties, and since I am 56, they all seem young to me. They are the tech crowd, and they understand Affiliate Marketing very well indeed. Most of the people I met at the summit make a lot more money than I do.
I also get the blank stare when I try to tell people who are in my family about my secret income process, but they are not interested. My sweet wife tells me that they just don't have the capacity for it. She says it takes a special kind of person to be an affiliate like me, and that these other people just don't comprehend exactly what it is. I am beginning to understand that she is correct. They just don't get it at all.
So, I quietly listen while I am with my family, never really getting much time to speak because when I do talk about what interests me, they do everything they can to get me to shut up because they just don't understand what Affiliate Marketing is. And further, they do not want to learn. They would rather have a drink, go to a party or shop somewhere. Hey, I can take a hint! I just keep quiet. After all, if my brother in laws ever really did comprehend what I do, they would become my competition, so let them spout off about all that they know. I am the audience.
Know anyone like that? Affiliate Marketing is the business of making money online. When the word "online" comes out, listen carefully to the flak that comes out to silence the online talk. Those who don't understand it try to drown it out. I have experienced it many times.
