TIAHRT SECURES ENDORSEMENT FROM FORMER SENATOR RICK SANTORUM

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Outspoken conservative and former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced his support for Congressman Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard). Santorum was a two-term Senator from Pennsylvania and served as the chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, the third most powerful leadership position in the Senate. While in the Senate, Santorum was a champion of efforts to counter the threat of radical Islam, to protect the rights of the unborn, and to defend the traditional definition of marriage.

"Courage is in short supply in Washington D.C. Whether it is fighting for the right to life or fighting for the liberty we hold dear, compromise and "going along to get along" cannot be an option for conservatives," Santorum said.

"We need a United States Senator with the courage and character to stand up for what is right, regardless of the political costs," continued Santorum. "For this reason, I put my full faith and support behind the candidacy of Congressman Todd Tiahrt for the United States Senate in Kansas."

Santorum currently serves as a Senior Fellow of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and directs the center's Program to Protect America's Freedom which works to identify, study, and heighten awareness of the threats to America. The program focuses specifically on communicating threats posed by states which are fueled by Islamic Fascism or an anti-American sentiment.
