Democracy costly solution to the Muslim problems
American democracy, by its own virtues, is next only to a perfect system of government. Its foundation centers on the promulgation of humanity through bestowal of rights to every individual, is the most ideal form of government conceived, where human talents and abilities are known to flourish. But, here is the catch 22, as democracy is being applied by America as a solution to the Muslim agitation and insurgency, launched by the Muslim terrorists; the Muslim enculturation is a magnified baggage to contend with by America.
While the American democratic form of government is being transplanted in Iraq, with full force, analytically, the blatant fact is that it is failing, blunted by the attacks of insurgents and its consequential increasing catastrophe on both sides. Democracy, as a form of government, would have great difficulty making it in the Muslim territories, because of the insurgents and terrorists’ determination to thwart it from gaining roots right on their own turf. To make democracy grow in Iraq, America would need to post its men in the country for an indefinite time, create American base camps there at a staggering costs to its treasury. And even with the building of bases, the insurgents’ unwillingness to succumb would result to unabated clashes and killings. A war of attrition is most likely to take place resulting to a very prohibitive cost to American forces lives, not to mention, the cost to the locals’ lives, as well.
The Muslim people would not want to have, nor anything to do with an American form of government, in the first place. This is the very reason insurgency is strong, as there is an undercurrent support emanating from the mass of brethrens, all the while appearing passive and welcoming the change, on the outside, but whose devotion remains for the cause, in their hearts. Democracy is a fallible and tenuous concept of government for the Muslims. It is an antithesis of what Muslims believe, practice, and enjoy the men’s supremacy in the culture.
The very foundation of democracy stands on everybody being counted and enwrapped with the basic human rights to coexist in equal footing, is as foreign as it is unwelcome to the Muslims. Worded and formed in black and white, in democracy, there are no lines or boundaries to demarcate anybody from fulfilling its desires and wishes, that is, within reasons, and favors of which or for whom, intended are a nonexistent practice. The language for which democracy is originally written is clear, unambiguous, such as, there is equality across the board. But in the Muslim world, women whose predicament is very much known are a deprived lot; docile, subservient, therefore, oppressed under control of the machismo men. Loathsome, as it may seem to the purview of the many, but being as it is, an enculturation, these women are there, nonetheless, as a family, and with raised, clenched hands, they show their solidarity and support for the fights their husbands and sons are committed for the cause of Muslim fraternity.
For democracy to take root and blossom in any setting requires a citizenry to have a basic education, and an ability to comprehend between right and wrong. As it is, among the Muslims, illiteracy is very high, in particular among the women. With regards to the latter, it is a deliberate program in the culture, interpretively, a way to easily contain them. Also, the quality of education has a great influence on the development of the citizens’ attitude and values. Reportedly, fanaticism remains strong among the Muslims, as a result of an education that is focused on the cultivation of the young minds portraying America as an evil, an arch rival enemy, and to be demolished, at all costs. These children, now honed by the teachings, are being shown blatantly, with seeming pride and portent, in parades, along with the adult brethrens military commando, is an ominous sight to me. Hitler, a monster of the past, for having killed six million Jews, has also succeeded in his internecine ambitions, while involving and harnessing the youths, parading them before the eyes of the world, symbolizing the rise of the Aryans.
As is happening now, the wars between the Muslims and the west, in particular, with America, bear all the similarities of the wars happened between the Moors and the Christians during the medieval period. The Moors provoking savagery and irreverent destruction of the Christian mecca land, Jerusalem, and the Christians holy obligation to protect and defend it, was a clash of religious bearings. Now, with the modern day Muslims, while they still pretty much behave like the old Moors, protective and fanatics to their religion, the west had had much evolvement to separate the church and the government. Now the war being waged is based upon an opposing ideology, protection of human dignity, as espoused by the west, versus the Muslims traditionalisms rooted in their religion.
In our modern times, war has much more catastrophic strength with the new technology weapons that has the reach and capability to destroy massively, including lives. With that force, annihilation of the entire humanity is feasible, with this superior weapons landing in the wrong hands of the rebellious Muslims, whose dark minds can scourge the earth. In much fashion as the President of Iran blurts, without restraint, professing the end of the world is soon coming, in which he would act as an agent of destruction to give rise to the coming of the Muslim Messiah. He is a man for America to watch with great concern.
While America, as a nation, is successful under its democratic government, it must not be so aggressive and single-mindedly led by the belief that everything good is a benefit from democracy. Other nations, like the Muslims, should best be left alone to their own style of governance, whether conducive or not. Thus, also preserving their culture. Democracy is not to be the all-potent solution for the Muslim problems, as it only breeds more dissent than conformation among the citizens. Implanting democracy in the Muslim society is like introducing a medicine to an advance stage cancer patient, where no painkiller no longer could abate the pain, but only left with an option, which is death.
Defeating the Muslims in its own game, I fear, would not be as easy as the U.S. experience in the dismantling of Communism sponsored by Russia in the 80s. There is no such thing as total annihilation of an ideology, and this is seen in the behavior of Russia, roguish, untrustworthy as a nation. It could care less if selling weapons to the Iranians to supply to the Hezbollah is used to wage a Holy war against Israel, and indirectly, against America. Russia’s unconscionable betrayal of comradeship towards world peace is an indirect way of seeking vengeance towards America, its primary rival for world supremacy.
America, as a superpower, and as the number one nemesis of the Muslims is under tremendous pressure to create other meaningful solutions to help in its endeavors to find an ultimate solution to the flagrant Muslim terrorism threat. Implanting democracy in Afghanistan and Iraq is a fallacy, as they are countries, Muslims at heart that abhor everything affiliated to America. Doing it would be analogous to infusing a type A blood to a bleeding patient with type B blood. At best, going to the basics, improving communication, the very basics of human contact, promises much more lasting and humane solution.
