Forum Questions And LUCK

Dale King
Do you know what the initials LUCK stand for? They're an acronym for:

Laboring

Under

Correct

Knowledge

There are but two ways you can get the correct knowledge:

Someone can give you the information, or you can research the information for yourself.

What about you? Are you laboring under the correct knowledge? Do you:

A. Do your own research

B. Ask someone else for the answers

If you chose A, congratulations! You're on your way to becoming a successful marketer...if you're not there already.

If you chose B...Shame on you. There's simply no excuse for taking shortcuts, and not doing the work yourself. Here's why:

There is an abundance of free information all over the Internet, covering every aspect of Internet Marketing from advertising to web design.

Not to mention, all of the free resources available at the public library.

Now I'm not saying, you shouldn't ever ask for help. I don't care how experienced you are, everyone needs help sometimes. After all, we're only human.

But there's really no excuse for not even trying, due to laziness. I mean, you at least have to do the work.

Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about:

I belong to several Internet Marketing forums. The other night after I had made a post, a student PM'd me (private message)and offered to pay me if I would help him with his marketing assignment.

He said he didn't have time to do the necessary research himself.

Can you believe that?

Naturally, I declined his offer. I don't do homework assignments...for pay or otherwise.

But I see those types of similar posts on forums all the time. People disguising their homework assignments as legitimate posts...in essence using forums as a crutch.

Here's the problem: If I answer those types of posts, how am I helping the poster?

Sure, they may get the answers they seek, but they also miss

out on the opportunity to figure out or research the answers for themselves.

Nothing takes the place of good old fashioned research. Got a question about something? Go online or to the library and try to find the answer yourself.

I can assure you, the answer to virtually every question ever asked can be found somewhere. You just have to be willing to put in the work to find it.

In closing, learn the art of research. It's a skill that will prove invaluable to you as you move through life.
