KYC 's Fundraiser Party in Atlanta Georgia

Saturday September 29, 2009, KYC chapter in Atlanta and in conjunction with KYC chapters in Washington DC and Harrisonburg VA held three successful fund-raising event for the Kurdish Youth Club Festival in January 2010.

KYC- Atlanta held a dinner fund-raising event at a local Kurdish Restaurant, Shish Kabobs, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The event composed of a dinner buffet of delicious Kurdish food including: Kabobs, grilled chicken, three types of rice, choices of salad, humus, eggplant soup, stuffed grape leaves, mix of fruit and deserts. In addition, the evening was embellished with Kurdish singing and dancing.

The entertainment included DJ and live music which brought the guests to the dance floor the entire night. At one moment, everyone but three guests were dancing at the same time to the traditional Kurdish music


The turnout was great despite the flood warnings and heavy rain from the weather advisory center across Metro Atlanta. Kurds and friends of Kurds made an effort to come to the dinner event. At the end of the night, everyone was happy for being there because it was a night full of delicious food, great music and wonderful people.

KYC has launched a series of fund-raising events to collect sufficient funds for a massive project coming January, 2010. In a three day event KYC will celebrate Kurdish Heritage in Atlanta Georgia during Martin Luther King Holiday. In which a tradition to celebrate Kurdish culture and heritage will be started for the first time in United States of America

Born in Slemani-Kurdistan. Moved to Atlanta Georgia in 1997. B.S. Major: Biology, Minor: Chemistry, Minor: Middle Eastern Studies. M.S. Applied and Environmental Microbiology. Has organized many events for the Kurds and youth throughout the different organizations and States. Very involved with the different communities in Atlanta. Public speaker in name of Kurds on many different Radio, TV, newspaper and communities. Former teacher through Georgia State University. Highly involved in Advocacy recognition and awareness on Anfal Genocide on The Kurds.
