OTOP Congress gathered and Linked
The OTOP Congress featured some of the most important discussions to the ever growing and expanding products in the province. Headed by Mr. Alfonso Alamban, Consultant and Facilitator of the Congress, participants from the different public and private sectors discussed and learned the various challenges they are experiencing: from production, marketing and even to the structure of their organization. Further, these concerns were addressed and given consideration through an open intervention from the Department of Trade and Industry Misamis Oriental, organizer and coordinator of the Congress.
Mr. Jovelito Cipriano, a guest speaker from Manila talked about a new marketing strategy to the local SMEs and LGUs. He introduced Internet Marketing, a better and more effective marketing strategy in a global community. He said that he started his Internet business with just Php10, 000.00 selling pinoy delicacies to various foreign and local clients. With the help of friends and family members, his business paved way to be the first and pioneer internet business in the country. With the potential to become big, Mr. Cipriano offered to feature some of the OTOP products to his website PINOYDELIKASI.COM to start off Misamis Oriental´s OTOP global exposure.
The Congress ended with the awards and recognition to the Outstanding SMEs and LGUs of OTOP in 2008. Department of Labor and Employment – Misamis Oriental, Naawan Local Government and Spythe Global Enterprises were recognized and given the awards.
