The Lieberman Legacy, Why He’ll Win In November

Ken Hughes
There’s a misconception America is occupying Iraq, nothing could be further from the truth. American troops have been in Germany for 60 years, In Korea for 50 Years and elsewhere around the world from extended periods of time, does that mean we are occupying those countries, certainly not nor are we occupying Iraq or Afghanistan. America’s the gentle giant invited in to chase the rats away.

America is assisting in bringing Iraq into the 21st century where women will finally be treated better than domestic animals, where female infidelity is no longer a sentence of death and male infidelity isn’t celebrated, where halftime entertainment at sporting events isn’t public executions.

For the entire eight year’s of the Clinton Administration the battle cry was Saddam Hussein must go. George Bush didn’t say one thing leading up to the Iraq war that wasn’t said by Bill Clinton and his Democratic associates.

The first to bring up Iraq’s nuclear ambitions forward was non-other than Senator Ted Kennedy.

Because Joe Lieberman recognizes there’s more to politics than party politics he’s been dropped, [aka kicked out] by his fellow democrats. Senator Lieberman recognizes the threat of international terrorism, being a Jew he’s lived with its effects through the eyes of friends and family, with the people of Israel for 50 years. What Joe Lieberman recognized and 9/11 should have taught America terrorism isn’t just a Middle Eastern problem it’s the world’s problem. America can’t afford to play party politics with millions of innocent lives. If America doesn’t challenge the barbarians at the gate who will?

We read articles suggesting a myriad of reasons [i.e.] excuses why Israel should be restrained from an all out defense of their country, reasons why America shouldn’t assist Iraq in establishing one of the first true democracies in the Middle East. We’re told of all the reasons why not and none of the reasons whys. Pundits have a habit of questioning and pointing out errors with few or no suggestions for improvement.

Christian and Jews are taught from childhood to turn the other cheek, Muslims are taught from childhood an eye for an eye. The world is rapidly coming to the point everyone has bruised cheeks and black eyes.

I would point out to our Liberal friends pacifism is for poets. Survival takes courage and frequently blood, freedom is not free. Our ancestors paid a heavy price to create the greatest nation on this earth we can do no less than fight to maintain that freedom.

To those people who blame George Bush for the situation in the Middle East, when Israel was decaled a nation in 1948 and the Arab Legions attacked them George Bush was 2 years old hardly capable of effecting international politics.

Joe Lieberman will run as an Independent, he will more than likely be reelected to the Senate. The people of Connecticut will be more loyal than the Democratic Party of Connecticut. Peace in the world is an inch by inch effort and we have miles yet to go. Joe Lieberman can be trusted to go the distance.

Vote Democrats No, Go With Joe.
