CDFI Fund Provides Update on Capacity-Building Initiative

Newswire Services
Washington, DC – On August 21, 2009, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new Capacity-Building Initiative to greatly expand technical assistance and training opportunities for community development financial institutions (CDFIs) nationwide. Late yesterday, the Bureau of Public Debt (BPD), which is administering this procurement action, posted an amendment to the RFP responding to all questions that have been submitted by the public. Due to a high volume of technical questions, the deadline for responding to the RFP solicitation has been extended to Friday, October, 30, 2009.

Please note that, due to Federal Acquisition Regulations requirements, BPD staff and CDFI Fund staff are prohibited from discussing or individually responding to inquiries or questions regarding the RFP. All the questions from the public have been thoroughly and thoughtfully reviewed and addressed by the amendment posted today.

Potential firms or organizations wishing to respond to the RFP can find the solicitation, BPD-CDF-09-CI-0010, and the most recent amendment, posted October 1st on FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov), the Federal government's information clearinghouse for contract opportunities. Additional task orders will be issued in the future.

The CDFI Fund anticipates that the technical assistance and training will be available to CDFIs through the Capacity-Building Initiative in the spring of 2010. Through this effort, the Capacity-Building Initiative will significantly boost the ability of CDFIs to deliver financial products and services to underserved communities nationwide.
