EduKick Football Academies Alumni Davide Somma Signs with England Leeds United F.C.

Toronto, Ontario - Rising star and EduKick football (soccer) academies alumni Davide Somma has signed a one year deal with LEEDS UNITED of League One in England.

A South African-born striker, Somma grew up in Florida. Seeking to be discovered overseas after playing for one year at a junior college in the USA, Somma joined the EduKick football training program in Madrid in 2004.

EduKick football academies helped launch Somma's international football career. Somma attracted professional attention under the Madrid coaches, the family of the current Spanish men's national team coach and World Cup 2006 coach, Luis Aragones.

"We were watching him in Madrid, and after only one week I knew this kid was a real talent," said Joey Bilotta, vice president of EduKick football academies. "I made up my mind to help him realize his dream of playing professional football."

With the help of EduKick football academies, Somma secured professional trials with CD Logroñes, a Spanish club from La Rioja, Spain, and AC Perugia in Italy.

Somma has already earned his place on the team, scoring twice in the reserves win over Rotherham earlier this month. The South African, who only completed a move to Elland Road on the final day of the summer transfer window, scored two opportunistic goals to seal a win for a strong Whites second string.
