Rent It or Regret It: The Value of a Projector Rental
Modern digital projectors are designed to share both data and video in crystal-clear picture. They've certainly come a long way from the slide projectors of the seventies and the loud overhead projectors of the eighties. However, in spite of their modern brilliance, today's projectors have their own faults. Their digital nature makes them fragile and ill-suited to life on the road. If the constant movement from car to lecture room and back isn't enough to disrupt the gentle balance of components inside the projector, the bouncing of the road or the rough handling of airplane baggage crews will do the job. Unfortunately, the internal components are not the only aspects of the projector that are at risk, as the modern LED lamps used to create the images are fragile in their own right and expensive - very expensive - to replace.
How can a traveling presenter deal with these issues? Many cannot afford to show up to their speaking engagements only to find that their projectors, which play a crucial role in their talks, are broken. And the bulk of such traveling shows makes carrying multiple projectors, with several as backup units, impractical.
A projector rental can be the solution to this major problem. Rentals are available around the country, and allow a speaker to rent a projector at their speaking site for the day. Rental units are in the long run much more cost effective than owning a projector, as the rental company is the one responsible for replacing the lamps, maintaining the unit, and dealing with any technical issues. Additionally, they are much more convenient, as they will cut down on the amount of stress, worry, and frustration (not to mention baggage) that a speaker has to deal with. All the speaker effectively needs to do is order the rental and then show up at the engagement. The projectors are there, ready to go with little to no setup required on the part of the speaker. While this is convenient for speakers at all levels, it is especially convenient for small business speaker or independent speaker who does not have a road crew following them from engagement to engagement.
When you consider all the things a traveling presenter needs to worry about, from arriving on time to having the materials prepared to being ready to present, it seems silly that any extra effort should be wasted worrying about such a simple yet essential piece of equipment. A projector rental can make the difference in a day running smoothly or disaster. Whether you are Bill Gates or an independent speaker, you want your talk to be memorable, effective, and good enough to encourage repeat business. Don't let your projector get in the way of your success!
