Second International Conference on Engineering Education for Sustainable Development in Bangladesh

Faculty of Engineering along with the Centre of Excellence of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) is going to arrange an International Conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 19 to 20th December 2009. The theme of the conference is "Engineering Education for Sustainable Development". The main objective of this conference is to bring together educationist, researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs whose views, ideas and opinions will be forwarded to the policymakers to move to a better engineering education.

SCOPE

The conference will deliberate on a range of topics related to engineering education in the past, present and future. Topics of interest include, but not limited to:

Civil engineering.

Mechanical engineering.

Electrical and electronic engineering.

Architecture.

Agricultural engineering.

Textile engineering.

Mechatronics engineering.

Biotechnology.

Energy engineering.

Biomedical engineering.

Genetic engineering.

Computer technology, etc.

VENUE

The conference will be held at The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB Auditorium). Dhaka is the capital of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Mughal Viceroy of Bengal founded it in 1608 AD. It has a unique blend of old and new architectures.



TECHNICAL SESSIONS

The contributed papers will be presented in about 4 technical sessions; in addition, there will be invited talks and panel discussions by eminent experts in the field. Any participant can display his/her work in poster form in the venue of the Conference.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The conference will be conducted in English and papers for presentation must be written in English. The papers will be peer reviewed and notification of acceptance of abstract will be sent. The conference proceedings and a CDROM will be available during the event.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Contributors are requested to submit an abstract of their papers, which should not exceed 250 words. This should contain the title of the paper, names of author(s), mailing address; e-mail of the corresponding author and salient features of the research work, important results, 3-5 Key words. Later on, contributors need to submit the full paper based on acceptance of abstract both in MS-Word and PDF through e-mail to the Conference Secretary. The Contributors must clearly state the particulars of the authors including their affiliations, contact address, telephone number, email address, and fax number. The full paper must be written in 12-point single spaced double columns and limited to 6-8 A4 pages including figures, tables and appendices.


DEADLINES

Submission of Abstract: 15 October 2009.

Notification of Acceptance of Abstract: 25 October 2009.

Submission of Full Paper: 15 November 2009.

Registration Deadline : 20 November 2009.

Conference Date:19 – 20th December 2009.

Local participants are requested to arrange their own accommodation. Local hospitality will be provided to the foreign participants, if requested in advance at the Hotel Sheraton or Hotel Sonargaon. Hotel bookings can be made via www.hotels.com

Hasanuzzaman Talukdar Shemul

Hasanuzzaman Talukdar Shemul was born in 1989 in a prosperous family in Gopalganj, Bangladesh.
He completed his school graduation (HSC) from Dhaka Bigyan College then he joined Bangladesh Navy and was in service for two years at frigate BNS Osman, and at two BN Establishments namely BNS Shaheed Moazzem and BNS Titumir from 2006 to 2007. At present, he is continuing his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in World University of Bangladesh.
He is a good science fiction writer and also a wikiholic. He was an editor of a monthly youth magazine the monthly "Protishurity" during his school life in Shaheen Academy, Feni.
He is a new and very young columnist of The American Chronicle, Modern Ghana, Rantburg, USA Today, World News and etc.
Hasanuzzaman Talukder Shimul has a keen interest in South Asian affairs of different regional and development issues. He is very much enthusiastic to work on the issues of climate change, global warming and preventing regional environmental degradation.
