Delhi Lakme Fashion Week or Show
Say spring and the first thought coming to the mind would be flowers. The thought is very common but the interpretation is purely subjective for various personalities. Designer Chaitanya Rao interpreted the same in the form of fashionable clothing. Colourful floral embroidered motifs on the surface were something prominent throughout his assortments. Spider webs were also seen as cutwork on the silhouette that mostly consisted of dresses.
Lifting the mood from the world of greeneries, Preeti Chandra carried the audience to another world of fantasy. Bling and sensual elegance ruled in the form of gowns and dresses with statement pieces made in accessories. The flirty music well complimented the look. However, when it comes to creativity in fashion, the designer couldn't impress the audience much. Sequined dresses, gowns, embroideries, western cuts are all fine but not something unusual in fashion.
May be the collections struck chords with some of the onlookers. By and large the show was an entertaining journey to a fabled garden. Designer Anand Kabra thought- "Preeti´s was an 'OK' collection. Chaitanya Rao was good. Few of his clothes in the beginning were beautiful, also embroideries and detailing was really impressive."
