Mackenzie Phillips Alleges Her Dad , John Phillips Raped Her Then She Made Him Her Lover

Del Williams
Mackenzie Phillips has written a memoir, and so far it is dividing the family, and causing heads to turn with its revelations of her father raping her the night before her wedding, and then on and off for the next ten years. According to her, midway through the ten years, the incest became consensual. She only ended it because she was pregnant and did not know if the baby was her husbandīs or her fatherīs. Her solution was to abort the child.

Mackenzie Phillips calls her family "typical." Please allow me to differ with that view. Mackenzie Phillips family was anything but typical. A "typical" family does not involve fathers teaching their kids how to do drugs, and shooting them up. A "typical" family does not have incest turned consensual sex between father and daughter. So, no, Mackenzie Phillips, your family is not typical.

It would be difficult to discuss whether the incest really happened since Phillips consistently states the sex occurred while in a drug induced state and she usually woke up to find her pants down. Could it have been hallucinations, fantasy, or the truth? Mackenzie Phillips says she wants to put a face to incest-turned-consensual. This is troubling on many levels, because she has yet to take any responsibility for her actions. It is one thing to be raped and quite another to make your rapist your lover. Further, in her interviews, she has defended him, and said he is not the monster people are making him out to be.

Mackenzie Phillips was not a child when the alleged incest started, and made a choice to continue putting herself in harmīs way, whereas, the typical incest victim is young with no place to run. Second, she made it consensual. Why? She was a woman in her mid-twenties, at this point and married; so why would she consensually have sex with her father for five years?

The sad reality is that Mackenzie Phillips is a talented woman that has wasted most of her life on drugs and blaming others for it. No one will ever know if the incest ever occurred for sure, but at this moment, Mackenzie Phillips needs to start taking ownership of her life and responsibility for her actions.
