Boy Beaten With Garden Hose After Spraying Neighbour With It

Judy Ramsook
Extreme hot weather can do strange things to people. It can make some one easily angered or frustrated, keep his/her stash of ice water handy and also follow pertinent rules when it comes to stage one water restrictions if there is a drought situation taking place in his/her area due to the lack of sufficient or recent rainfall.

People’s neighbours can even go so far as to report water wasters to the authorities, or persons who are using their sprinkler systems on days that are not their designated sprinkling system days.

Something which can anger one even further. It seems no matter where one lives, there is at least one neighbour who will indulge in reporting such matters to the respective authorities.

If people are restricted to using their sprinkler systems to only one day a week before 10:00 AM or after 8:00 PM, one thing they are allowed to do is use their garden hose for watering purposes anytime of day or night. What happens though when one’s neighbour’s six year old son unexpectedly sprays you with a garden hose?

As one watches the news piece unfold on the evening news programme, at first it may sound like some kind of joke, but such was the case of San Antonio resident, Yolanda Perez who was a victim of such spraying. Being a little upset at the gesture, she took the hose from the boy and beat him with it.

Although the boy suffered a few welts from the beating, he is now home from hospital. The woman, Ms. Perez is also moving along with her life. She got a night in jail for her reaction to being sprayed by the boy with the garden hose.
