Kenneth Elliott
Are you considering having piles surgery in the near future? Have your hemorrhoids or piles become so painful that you would do anything to get rid of them? These are some of the questions that hemorrhoids suffers ask themselves day after day living with such a painful ailment. Most piles cases can last a long time. It depends on how serious the patient is willing to get rid of them. So, when is Piles surgery recommended? Before we answer that question let´s take a look deeper into what piles are and are their other piles treatment options.

To be specific, piles are swelling that are round in nature and reside on the inside of the anal canal. Not just any place inside of the canal, they stay at the short, muscular tube that brings about a connection between your rectum and your anus. This is more commonly known as the anal cushions.

There are different types of piles both internal piles and external piles. They are rated according to their degree of swelling.

First degree piles are the mildest. If you call having piles mild. The swelling is inside the lining of the anal canal. At this point the piles are not seen from outside of the anus, but they may still bleed.

Second degree piles stick out of the anus during bowel movements. They are larger in mass than first degree piles. After bowel movements are complete the piles will return back on their own.

Third degree piles have the same symptoms as second degree piles but they will not return after bowel movements. They will only return if pushed back into place.

Forth degree piles on the other hand hang down from the anus and will not return back into the anus nor can they be pushed back into the anus. These types of piles can become very painful and extremely swollen.

Lastly, external piles, which develop below the anal cushion. This condition is very painful, even more painful than any of the other types.

Now that you are armed with the types of hemorrhoids which type do you believe that you have? Also, have you tried any other remedies to take care of this problem? Natural remedies are available and can cure some of the more mild types of hemorrhoids. Not only natural remedies, a change of diet can also cure hemorrhoids. Although, the exact reason why some people get hemorrhoids is not known some believe that there is a weakness of tissue between the anal cushion and the muscle layers underneath. But some have found that a diet with high fiber has had a positive effect on getting rid of piles.

With all of this being said there are times where piles surgery is recommended. When all other options have been done and the hemorrhoids are still persistent than piles surgical removal may be the option of choice. Also, large internal piles are recommended for piles surgery. Lastly, when multiple small hemorrhoids are present or bleeding is uncontrollable piles surgery could be the only piles remedy available.

With all of the suggestions it is best to check with your doctor for the final say as to the direction to go.
