1952 Topps Baseball Set Remains a Treasure

Topps was recently awarded exclusivity for producing licensed trading cards by Major League Baseball but the company got its start with the 1952 Topps baseball set. The issue was groundbreaking when it hit store shelves that spring and continues to be the most popular Topps baseball cards set of all time. One sports collectibles company is celebrating this landmark issue by making it the sole focus of a website designed for vintage baseball card collectors who appreciate and collect this American icon.

In partnership with eBay.com, Topps 1952 (http://www.topps1952.com) brings all of the available 1952 Topps cards on eBay to one central location, sorting the listings from sellers across the nation by lots, rookies and singles. There is a search function for collectors to bid on and buy cards from the 407-card set which broke ground in the young baseball card hobby by its sheer size.

In addition to offering 1952 Topps from sellers across the country, Topps1952 offers a complete checklist and articles on collecting cards from the set, including the iconic 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, considered the Yankee legend´s most popular collectible and often referred to as his rookie card. Other Baseball Hall of Famers had cards in this set including Willie Mays, Jackie Robinson, Bob Feller, Yogi Berra, Richie Ashburn, Warren Spahn and Eddie Mathews. The cards are some of the most valuable in the baseball card hobby, with high-grade examples sometimes selling for tens of thousands of dollars. However, average collectors can find cheaper options by browsing through the lower-grade offerings.

Topps 1952 also offers links to sports collecting news stories elsewhere and will debut other features in the future.

The attractive design of Topps1952, highlighted by an image of an original 1952 Topps pack, makes it easy for baseball fans and vintage card collectors to get lost in reliving part of the game´s golden era.
