Hey America--You're Next!! Islam in America

In an excellent op-ed piece in "The Toronto Star", the author points out that a cease-fire in the Middle East would accomplish less than nothing. Fact is--it's already too late:

Israel has absolutely no choice. Hizbullah has evolved into a highly sophistocated force to be reckoned with. It is a proxy of Iran, which provides it with a steady stream of missles which, in turn, have been a steady stream raining down on Israeli heads for over two years, non-stop.

If we can't deal with a steady stream of illegal immigrants who constitute the largest percentage of our gangs as well as our hard-core criminals, raining down on Texas and Arizona (bet that state appreciates the Israelis' situation) then how are we going to deal with anything worse?

Just how long do you think we would tolerate a steady barrage, intersperced with suicide attacks, from the North and the South?

Simply put, Israel really has no other choice. And in case nobody has noticed, neither do we.

The American public has never had a war on its soil other than its internecine conflict of a Civil War. It is, therefore, apparently incapable of understanding the critical necessity of seeing past the immediate moment. Also, the public apparently has no notion of the chronic wartime drama that plays out in Israel each and every day, with suicide attacks and rockets constantly raining down on its people, and which has been the case for years.

An isolated attack here, however disastrous--such as the Twin Towers attach of 911-, is short and clearly defined in duration, and apparently results in no enduring changes in attitude or understanding.

More outrageous was the slaughter of over 264 Marines during their occupation of Lebanon, at the invitation of the Lebanese government. Subsequent to this, our Grade B actor-president did absolutely nothing and whose popularity following was just as strong, much to the dismay of General Alexander Hague, his Secretary of State.

Similarly, the significance of the heightened frequency and severity of anti-Semitic incidents appears lost on our citizens, even upon Neil Cavuto and the conservative FOX news. More astounding, however, was his attack on his own reporter (who is Jewish) when she simply pointed out a series of events which by any standard shows a new level of hatred, including but not limited to: the attack on the Seattle Jewish Center, with five wounded and one woman killed, made possible by the taking of a 13 year old girl hostage, a shooting of an elderly Jewish man in the Mid-West, and more to the point, a Muslim rally of literally thousands in which the death of the Jews was called for by the leader of the second largest Muslim Mosque in the United States.

No one spoke out in rebuttal, or in response. The reporter herself has been the target of e-mailed (and therefore documented) death threats. The droll Neil Cavuto sees no substantial significance in this sequence. Now, maybe if someone made the analogy of a moving average....

What the American public fails to see is what all this is telling them. The message is clear. Ask the Europeans:

You're next, Americans. The moslem extremists are equal-opportunity despisers.
