Northern Arizona Man Sentenced to Over Four Years in Prison for Aggravated Assault

PHOENIX—Christopher Ray Elliot, 28, of Bacavi, Arizona, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Earl H. Carroll to 51 months in federal prison. The prison term will be followed by a six-month placement in an inpatient alcohol rehabilitation program while on three years of supervised release. Elliot pleaded guilty on June 16, 2009, to Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On February 23, 2009, Elliot assaulted the victim with a pool stick during an alcohol related argument. The incident occurred in Kykotsmovi, Ariz. on the Hopi Indian Reservation.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Hopi Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution was handled by Roger Dokken, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
