Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold

THE MORO National Liberation Front (MNLF), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), and all the other Al-Qaeda-linked extremist groups in the Philippines had now run doubtful of yet unused strategies for piracy and other forms of terrorism, since many of their terroristic plots are now fully documented and controlled by Philippine intelligence and security forces.

The groups' master plans for exploitations on Christians and other non-muslims have been strictly monitored by military and para-military troops, and many of the terror leaders have been captured or killed.

The moves of the Al Qaeda, Jemaa Islamiyah and other foreign terror networks in the country have likewise been closely monitored and recorded, and will be strictly anticipated by government authorities in future terroristic attempts.

However, it is also the duty and responsibility of every Filipino citizen to be extra wary of the yet unknown strategies of terrorism that could most likely be more intense than the known ones. It is the duty and responsibility of every Filipino citizen to immediately TAKE FULL CIVIL ACTION or inform the police and military authorities of suspicious elements of terrorism in their respective areas.

Moreover, it is not enough to rely on the usual idea that these terror groups in the country only kill innocent civilians, create violence and perform grand robberies---but also to be keen of other possible exploits on the land. By doing so, all loopholes for the possible incoming of terror exploits shall be tightened.

Among the outline of police and military victories over the terror groups are: 1) The success in foiling plots to bomb and burn town buildings, social and religious institutions, and gatherings of persons within the last two years; 2) The various police and military raids in terror safe houses and hiding places with the discovery of several high-powered explosives, fragmentation grenades, blasting caps and several other items used to make explosive devices; 3) The continuous monitoring of suspicious terror elements and armaments in all possible areas; 4) The capture of many of these lawless elements; and 5) The successful rescue of kidnapped victims.

Moro lawless persons are eager, ready and willing to sow violence and discord among innocent civilians. They are just awaiting for the proper time to strike. If we are not wary enough, upcoming attacks on innocent civilians could be sure and soon.

Uncovering the selection process behind the terrorists' choice of targets, let us delve on questions, such as: When is there expected to be a large gathering of people? What buildings and institutions will most likely be prone to terror fire and destruction? Who are the target publics for terroristic abductions and exploitations?

These questions are intended for the terror-prone publics. And the answers to these questions will surely serve as guiding lights for the preservation of public peace and tranquility.

Without quick CIVIL ACTION and public watchfulness, it is possible that more innocent Filipino civilians could die in the hands of the Al Qaeda and Jemaa Islamiyah-supported Abu Sayyaf Groups and the other terror groups in the country.

The long list of affected civilians and institutions show that all the terror groups do not care about the Philippines or its people, despite claims during peace pact gatherings.

The works of these lawless groups are a reflection of their evil intentions, and far from the feeling of national love and affection. Their actions show that they are simply a gang of money-hungry bandits controlled by foreigners who desire power within the Philippines. This is the very time and predicament for public retaliation.

Since their evil plots to kill and maime are oftenly disrupted by police and military forces, majoriy of these terrorists are in strict hiding. With ample public cooperation and support, government pursuit will be easy and quick.

Police and military forces finally find the chance to capture them and foil their plans for destruction.

In many of the Mindanao areas, the same pattern is developing, but in a bit slower pace, with concerned citizens trying their best to step up efforts to stop the foreign-supported extremist organization.

As time goes by, police and military operatives double their efforts to locate and capture terrorists in the Southern Philippines. They keep on furtherly intensifying their hunt for these foreign-supported lawless elements.

It is the constantly-renewing efforts that have led to the capture of several high-level terror thugs, such as JEQI aka Zaqqi, GUMBAHALI JUMDAIL, RASAM MOHAMMAD, GAMMAL BAHARAN aka Tapay, TOTING CRAFT HANNO aka Jakaria, GALIB ANDANG, ALHAMAR LIMBONG and HAMSIRAJI SALI, among many others.

These notable arrests, matched with wholesome public support for constant captures of foreign-supported groups, have made the country a good place to live in.

Terrorists' outlooks have even grown more blurry and misled, and their foreign masters have eventually lost their grip on the confused Filipino rebels under their command.

The recent illegal recruitment of young members for the MILF army is but one example of the insane and desperate actions of the confused criminals, in the face of the Peace Pact deal with the Philippine government.

After making a series of pledges for peace with the Philippine government in various venues---in the local, national and international scenes---promise was categorically broken in different terror training camps in the country.

The high ranking MILF officials, together with some foreign country legal supporters, pledged to the constituencies that they will always be in full support with the Philippine military to prevent the continuation of the various recruitment and training activities. To date, many citizens expressed shock at this insencere and decadent act of expanding the MILF war wing.

There is indeed a great apprehension of an all-out armed struggle against the Philippine government once Bangsamoro demands are not fully met.

These continuous recruitment and training activities are only one among the latest examples of the horrible misdeeds that the foreign-supported extremist groups inflict upon the Philippines. Their illegitimate actions make them special criminals and nothing less.

Hence, in order to prevent future crimes of sorts, citizens are to continue to remain extra mindful of their surroundings, and TAKE CIVIL ACTION or simply report suspicious persons and situations to authorities immediately.

"REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD," so goes an old Chinese proverb.
