At Least five shot, one fatally at Jewish Federation Center in Greater Seattle, WA during the Sabbath.

One person arrested after the suspect and several others started calling in the shots fired at around 4:03 PST.

Five or six people were wounded, assistant police chief Jim Pugel said. The police cordoned off several blocks to investigate the shooting.

One person died, fire department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick said.

One wounded woman was shot in the abdomen and another woman was hit in the arm, according to news accounts. Information on the others wounded was not immediately available.

A SWAT team searched the federation building, looking for any other victims, anyone hiding or any other possible shooters, police spokesman Rich Pruitt said.

It is being described as a hate crime, but Pruit said he had no information on a motive.

"Hopefully we can figure that out as this goes on," he said.

Several witnesses said they saw a man walk up and shoot a woman in the leg on a sidewalk near the building.

The Jewish Center says their mission is to, "ensure Jewish survival and enhance the quality of Jewish life locally, in Israel and worldwide."

Details are slow in coming out, so information is slow in coming.
