2012 Hysteria

We are told that the Mayan calendar ends on 12/21/2012. I don´t know that to be true but I will accept that conclusion for discussion. The claims that I have read seem to focus on the idea that there is some alignment of our Solar System with the inner sanctum of the Galaxy that will spell dome for Earth.
Why would any one think that? Earth and all of our Solar System in fixed in a position about two thirds of the way out from the center of the galaxy as you head for the galaxy edge. We have been traveling in that circle around the Galaxy with a full revolution about every 200,000 years so what is to be different in 2012? My first thought was that the Mayan´s simply ran out of space on their calendar to add any more data. I know that will not satisfy people looking for some exotic explanation so I must move on. When we speculate about a possible meaning for the year 2012 there is no reason to believe that the date will be bad news. Possibly if there is some meaning involved it will be good news. Before I go into my own exotic idea I dismiss any involvement of the Galaxy on 2012. If there is meaning to discuss we should think in terms of some local event within our own Solar System.
We do not know as much about the Mayans as we would like. In recent past years academics have made headway translating much of the Mayan Glyphs but even those efforts, I believe, require more collaboration if we wish to be confident with the interpretation. If the 2012-year were so important wouldn´t the Mayans have left some message regarding the anticipated events? If we think we have properly translated the Mayan writing why haven´t we found information telling us what is significant about the year 2012? Why haven´t we found more details about their origin and their reason for abandoning their sites? In some ways the Mayan were more interested in the planet Venus calendar than they were in the Earth calendar. The Mayan study of planet Venus was somewhat unique among the early people of the Earth- not just of the Americas. The Egyptians were very into astronomy for a very long time but I am unaware of their having a thing about Venus anything like that of the Mayans, if any thing special at all.
The first item is to decipher why the Mayan had such a special interest in the planet Venus. As I have written in other articles it is my belief that the planet Venus was originally in an orbit about where Mars is now. As a result of the changes that took place during the Noah flood Venus was relocated from its original location to where it is now. In the process Earth got possibly 60% or more of the water we now enjoy to the water taken from Venus. The Mayan were aware of these events and began, soon after the orbits settled down, to chart the behavior of Venus. They created a special calendar for Venus and tracked it from very early on. If you expect me to prove this contention you must wait until the expectations on 2012 materialize to show my proof.
So what is going to happen in 2012? I contend it is the date the Mayans have calculated that the planet Venus will return to normal rotations again. As you know, ever since the original relocation of Venus it rotates clockwise and just about all the other planets rotate counterclockwise. (Except Uranus which was also effected by the same events.) Assume for this discussion the planet Venus originally rotated counterclockwise and was flipped over 180 degrees causing it to now be rotating clockwise. The new orbit of Venus would have a normal year of 246.6 Earth days. Venus size with an equatorial radius of 3759.5 miles (x 6.2832) provides for a circumference of 23,621.7. based on its circumference I predict that Venus would rotate at .2732 miles per second at the equator (My book Surfing the Solar System.) 23,621.7 / .2732 provides that Venus would have 86,463 seconds in one day´s rotation and that translates into a day of 24.0175 hours. Because Venus is smaller than the Earth it would rotate slower. I do not know when the Mayan first began their records listing the periods of Venus but it was very likely about when the planet first showed signs of regularity. Because I believe that an orbiting planet will derive its rotation period from it size the prospect is that Venus had a similar period of rotation even when it was in an orbit closer to what Mars enjoys now, if it was the same size as now. I have contended that Venus, before the big reorganization, was a larger planet, of no import here..
When we look at Venus today we find that it only rotates About 1 ˝ turns in a year. It is possible that Venus took a hit in the move that slowed down its rotation or with the conflict between a planet rotating clockwise and a Solar System that is oriented to counterclockwise there has been a constant pressure, electromagnetic and gravitational, on Venus to return to the normal way of things and rotate counterclockwise. We do not know when it began and we can not calculate the effect of the pressure on Venus so there is no way for me to have predicted when Venus would reverse its rotation although I have never doubted that it would occur or that the time was probably a lot closer than one might guess. The Mayan were aware of this transition and it was part of their fascination with the planet Venus. They were not predicting a catastrophe in the year 2012; they were expecting Venus to start rotating counterclockwise and as a result undergo an amazing rehabilitation to a much cooler planet and in time become Earth like, as it once was. Why 2012 is the time is simply something they knew that we do not know. The Solar System was given its counterclockwise rotation at birth, The continuation of that rotation is proof alone that the Sun is manipulating the Solar System contents to maintain that rotation in a mathematical way that I have demonstrated in other articles on the mechanics of the system.
I do not understand why some members of our society see a doomsday plan in every mysterious thing that comes along. You may feel my idea is far out and that is just fine. It will leave you with a happier thought if you give it a fair evaluation compared to the doomsday prophets.
