President Obama's Health Care Plan, Whose Side Are You On?

Judy Ramsook
Since I was growing up, I have heard people say to what degree they disliked going to the doctor. As I grew older, I began to understand why certain individuals disliked those doctors´ visits.

Obviously, if you were ill or needed medical attention, it meant that you would emerge from the doctor´s office feeling more discouraged than you felt when you entered it.

But at some point in our lives, all of us, whether we like it or not, might need some kind of medical attention. And what quality of health care coverage you have usually determines what level of care you will receive. President Barack Obama´s health care reform package is not too popular with many people.

For the President´s plan calls for all Americans to have good quality medical care. Something only the wealthy or persons with good medical coverage are privileged to have.

For the not so fortunate, or those who cannot afford good medical coverage, you have free clinics or medical facilities where a prospective patient may have to wait hours or all day until he/she is attended to.

And depending on the severity of his/her condition, he may have to wait longer. Emergency and trauma cases are given high priority.

President Obama wants to install a plan that will allow Americans to have good health care treatment regardless of whatever income level you belong to.

It´s an issue that´s causing much controversy among people who choose to discuss the matter. Some rich people feel as if their territory is being invaded upon and some not so wealthy persons feel as though they deserve good medical treatment.

And on a personal note, I am not certain whether or not President Obama´s plan will gain approval from the powers that be, but no matter who you are, take care of your health.

If you are in good health, treasure it. Because whether you have good health care coverage or not, once that´s gone, it´s gone.
