Laveen Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for "Walk-By" Shooting Homicide
Villareal, a gang member, was walking through the neighborhood on May 7, 2008, firing a 9mm pistol into residences. Villareal fired 37 rounds during the incident. One round went through the wall of a residence, killing a young, pregnant female victim as she got up to see what the shooting was about.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Gila River Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution was handled by Roger Dokken, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
