• Annual International Ballet Festival of Miami 28 Aug - 13 Sep 2009 Miami
  In the heart of the historic Art Deco District in Miami Beach the Jackie Gleason Theater showcases the Annual International Ballet Festival of Miami which reflects the city's multicultural status. The festival takes place at various venues and is presented by the Miami Hispanic Ballet. Highlights include a dance film series and several workshops headed by talented choreographers.


• Dig the Beach Series - Miami Beach 12 - 13 Sep 2009 Miami
  Florida's good weather makes it an ideal host for the Dig The Beach beach volleyball series. The state championships takes place on sexy Miami Beach and the supporting activities include free play for aspiring players.

• Orlando Triathlon- 12 September Orlando
  Downtown Orlando offers the Triathlon with competitors participating in various different age group contests, over the sprint distances of a quarter-mile swim, 11.7 mile bike race and 3.7 mile run.


• United States Dance Championships - 8 - 12 Sep 2009 Orlando
  Contestants from over 30 countries dance take part in the United States Dance Championships in Orlando. Enjoy an atmosphere charged with Latin passion as both amateur and professional couples battle it out in the most elegant way you can imagine!

• Mercury Outboards' S.L.A.M. Tournament - 11 - 13 Sep 2009 - Wyndham Casa Marina, Key West
  Fishermen journey from the US, Bahamas and beyond to this charity fishing event to net fish such as Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit which are all released after being caught. The latter mentioned fish are the most sought-after game fish in the sport. Permit being the hardest of the three to catch! To win the event you have to capture a "grand slam" - one of each. The fishing takes place over two days.


• Womenfest - 8 - 13 Sep Key West
  Offers women of all ages, creeds and persuasions an array of different events to choose from, at this week-long event in the Key West. It began in 1987 and is dedicated to the idea that women should come together and share their experiences. A welcome reception and various cocktail parties help guests get to know one another. The Key West Gay and Lesbian Community Center organises daily seminars of interest to lesbians and sporting tournaments are held throughout the week. Water activities are on the agenda, including daily trips (with an all-female crew) out to the reefs for snorkelling and diving or how about Catamaran trips or para-sailing?


• Hollywood Beach Latin Festival - 20 Sep 2009 - Hollywood
  The Blue Wave Beach and Broadwalk are awash with activity as massive crowds head for this hip Latin event in Hollywood Beach. It is an annual celebration of Hispanic culture that attracts around 50,000 people every year. Food stalls sell treats from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the US. Arts and crafts stalls and fun activities for the kids round it off .


• Annual Tapa Hop - 22 Sep 2009 - Fort Myers Beach
  4 of Fort Myers' popular Spanish restaurants are explored during the Tapa Hop, an evening of sumptuous food and f.f.fun. Visitors sample appetizers in one joint before being escorted to another by bus.


• Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally - Sep 2009 - Panama City
  Enjoy four days of stunt shows, exhibitions and contests at the Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally in Panama City at the Boardwalk Beach Resort.Each of the participating venues - offers visitors and exhibitors a great time.

• Pensacola Seafood Festival - Sep 2009
  More than 20 food vendors will cook up their specialities... the Pensacola Seafood Festival is an event to savor. A full agenda of entertainment will be on in Seville Square, Fountain Park and Bartram Park to accompany the food. Savor delicacies such as fried mullet, crabmeat puffs with Monterey sauce, crawfish etouffe and seafood pita, mmm...


• The South Asian Film Festival - Sep 2009 - Enzian Theater in Maitland
  A 3 day Florida celebration of Indian culture and heritage through film. In association with Coproduced the Asian Cultural Association. For more information on this year's event, call the Enzian box office or the Asian Cultural Association. With more than 160 American independent and International films depicting works from more than 30 countries, the Festival was recently recognized as one of the Best Regional Film Festivals in the U.S., Best Vacation Festivals, and Best Party Festivals in The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide, 3rd Edition.
