"Jon Gosselin may think he's living a "nightmare" -- but he said the show must go on.
The unemployed father of eight who said this week he longed to step out of the searing spotlight and into a life of simplicity shot down rumors that he wanted to stop filming the wildly popular TLC show "Jon & Kate Plus 8."
I never said that,' Gosselin told People.com. 'A fan asked me, 'Don't you sometimes wish you could go back to a 9-to-5 job?' The name of the reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8", should be changed to "Jon versus Kate Plus 8", now that that the famous couple is in the process of getting a divorce.
With the dissolution of the marriage, the cancellation of the show should have been a given. The premise of the show was the trials and tribulations of a loving couple raising a huge family. What is the point of watching this voyeuristic drivel, now that Jon and Kate hate each other?
But the reality series is a cash cow for TLC and the Gosselins, so the dysfunctional show must go on. Nevermind that the show not only destroyed their marriage, but it's causing emotional and psychological harm to the children.
Jon Gosselin has no intentions of quitting the show -- it's the only way he can pick up women. Even with his hair plugs Jon couldn't get a date even if he were the only man in the world. It's only because the show has made him famous that he can go out with a different girl every weekend.
Jon isn't a productive member of society, he isn't a lawyer, accountant, mechanic, doctor, secretary or teacher. The reality show is Jon's job, he makes his living by exploiting his children and robbing them of their childhood.
I wish the viewers of this dreadful show would wake up, and stop enabling Gosselin. Stop watching Jon's show, and maybe he will be forced to get a real job.
