How To Choose A Wholesale Custom Kitchen Cabinet Maker Dealer Or Manufacturer. Utah Colorado Idaho
People often ask; how do we choose a professional designer or cabinet maker to help us with what is probably one of the most important projects in our home, the cabinets and countertops? Whether you want custom cabinets or are in the more budget oriented category with your project, whether you´re doing a kitchen remodel or just want to add a set of bookcases in an extra room.
We asked David Birch of Udells Cabinets Inc. www.udells.com about his opinion on this question. Udells Cabinets has been in business for 35 years and David has been with them since its inception. He has worked in nearly area of the cabinet business, sales, installation, design and manufacturing. He has some pretty well defined ideas on this subject.
David says there are four things to consider when selecting a cabinet professional or a kitchen design center.
1. Find someone you can build a good rapport with. You may be spending a lot of time with this individual and you need to feel comfortable spending time with them. They need to be sensitive to your needs and desires for your project. You also want to be able to trust their advice, No matter what the project; you should spend your money with someone you like.
2. Get someone who will help you get the most for your money and help with any budget constraints that may be involved with your project. If there are no constraints then let the designer know that you want to go all out on your cabinets and countertops. Quite often, you get what you pay for in service or quality.
3. A trustworthy person and company is a must in this economic environment. There are companies that will take a down payment even though they are on shaky ground financially. It could be tragic for you if they go out of business. You want to know they will be there to warranty anything that may come up in the future. A good way to know if company is going to be there is to find out how long they have been in business. If it has been a long time, you can bet they will be there in the future.
4. You will want a qualified dealer and someone who has a lot of experience with different types of projects. If they are fairly new to the business, make sure they have support from a supervisor or trainer who can help with any concerns that may arise. Ask for references, and don´t be afraid to ask others if they are happy with their cabinets, countertops, cabinet installation, and the follow up after the job. Were they happy with how the schedule is being handled? Many shops don´t seem to understand the difficulty they cause when they hold up a project.
Remodeling a kitchen, building a new home or upgrading an area of your home can be fulfilling and rewarding if you choose help wisely, so have fun and enjoy the journey. The happiness from a project well done will last long after the price is forgotten.
