The World Is Ablaze And For What ?

Ken Hughes
Ask anyone and you’ll get a verity of reasons, in the end it’ll come down to the Israeli / Palestinian conflict. Muslims don’t believe they can live in a region where the unclean Christians and Jews are contaminating their sacred soil. Jews believe their land is a gift from God; neither side is willing to compromise to accommodate the others beliefs. How can they? It would mean total surrender of one side or the other.

The people sent by the United Nations to negotiate the conflict are from one of the cultures or don’t have the faintest concept of such fervent religious beliefs that exist in the region. In America and many of the nations in what we call democratic countries religion has taken a spot on the back burner. Religion isn’t a part of the law and only of minimal influence. It’s difficult to tell someone whose ancestry goes back thousands of years it wasn’t God / Allah but the United Nations who divided these lands between Arab and Jew.

If we look at the purely practical side without going into religious differences the Israelis make the better argument. They took a barren land the Arabs had wondered over for centuries, a land without natural recourses and turned it into a new Garden of Eden so to speak.

Israel is a place where women compete equally with men, where religion is an option not mandatory. The Israelis greatest fear is when the next suicide bomber will blow up in their faces, when and where the next rockets will land. The Israelis have lived with these conditions for 60 years is it any wonder they’ve had enough?

Israel conceded Gaza and much of the West Bank to the Palestinians to have a land to call a nation of their own for the first time even, in over four thousand years that region has never been a recognized nation until the Nation of Israel was created, it had always been occupied territory. What Israel cordoned off wasn’t enough for the Palestinians their proclamation is they won’t submit or compromise the Arabs want all Jews out of the Middle East.

Then what does the Garden of Eden return to a barren land where man can scarcely make a living. There’s no evidence the Arabs have the knowledge or the ambition to continue on the path of achievements made by the Israelis. If we look at the other nations in the region none is as advanced by half as Israel.

Is the world about to let this new conflict in the Middle East bring us into World War Three simply because half the world hates Jews and tolerates Muslim atrocities, or will common sense prevail? Will those with influence bring the Palestinian terrorists under control?

It’s no longer acceptable for the world to suggest the Israelis can afford a few of its citizens as sacrifices for a modified peace in the world. The Israelis have paid enough now its time they extracted their pound of flesh from those who started this new conflict.
