Louisville Ranked Great Place to Live

In July of 2009, CNN Money Magazine picked the top 100 cities for its Best Places to Live--Best Small Towns list. Of those top 100, the top 10 were:

2. Chanhassen, MN

3. Papillion, NE

4. Middleton, WI

5. Milton, MA

6. Warren, NJ

7. Keller, TX

8. Peachtree City, GA

9. Lake St. Louis, MO

10. Mukilteo, WA

And the number one place in America to live: Louisville, Colorado. Why? Well, Money looked at local economies, schools, home affordability, crime, and more. (For you home shoppers, the average price as of November, 2009 is in the mid 400s. ||Map of Louisville homes||) They chose Louisville because it's a unique hybrid of a town that offers small town charm without the small-minded suffocation. The 300 days of sunshine didn't hurt, either. ||Find top Louisville subdivisions, school districts, and condominium developments||

Quality of life in Louisville has long made it a no-brainer for families and working adults. The tech, energy, education, and health care industries all maintain a strong presence in the area. Louisville is weathering the recession well, too. Its unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the state.

And then there are the neighbors: Louisville is about an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park; fifteen minutes from Boulder; about thirty minutes from downtown Denver; and an hour and a half to two hours from most major ski resorts, except Eldora, which is a scant thirty minutes away.

Don't take it on faith, though, that Louisville's great. Visit yourself, and know that if it's not your cup of tea, Colorado is the state with something for everyone.
