Easy Tips to Improve Employee Computer Training with Online Video Courses by Expert Ankit Patel
In our businesses we often are so focused on the bottom line we sometimes miss the basic blocking and tackling. Not everyone is at the same technology skill set and a lot of time can be lost to get people on the right training level. Here are some common best practices that will help you train your staff in less time and have them work more efficiently:
Asses the tasks that your office is performing.
Be sure to have a handle on the level of skills needed for a particular job. For instance a data analyst would need a much different skill set than an administrator. If you can figure out exactly what they need you can cut down on training time and costs.
Assess the ability of the person.
Once you know what they need to be doing assess where they are currently. A short yes/no questionnaire is usually perfect for the task. Ex: "Do you know how to change a hot swap drive in a laptop/notebook?" or "Do you know how to do a regression analysis in Excel?"
Train on the needed skill sets.
Now you know the skills your office needs and what they can do now you train them on the specific items they need help with. The more specific and customized the training programs the more effecting and efficient the training will be.
Keep the skills sharp.
After your office has the new skill set, you want to make sure they are current and do not lose what they have learned. The best way to do this is to practice and take refresher courses on what´s new and what´s changed.
By doing these things you can have a more effective work force that is trained and continues to be sharp through time.
