Cocaine Linked To Billy Mays' Death. I Knew Billy Mays Was Tweaking
Mays, 50, was famed for his ear-shattering, booming voice and machine-gun delivery, which turned his OxiClean and Orange Glo pitches into hyper-consumerist kabuki. Heart disease still is cited as the primary cause of death." Tirdad Derakhshani/Philadelphia Inquirer
I didn't need a toxicology report to tell me that Billy Mays was tweaking. The wide-open eyes, the frantic delivery, the excessive use of the hands: Dude was tweaking!
I suspected that it was either cocaine or the dye from his jet-black beard seeping into his brain that killed him.
Billy Mays commercials for OxiClean should be turned into public service announcements: Kids, this is your brain on drugs.
Mays' wife is upset over the reports that cocaine contributed to his death, but autopsy reports don't lie. His spouse claims she never saw him do drugs, but she probably didn't see him dye his beard either.
I'm from the big city, San Francisco to be precise, and I know a hype when I see one. Boys and girls: Billy Mays was a druggie.
Disclaimer: I'm not a physician, and I've never played one on TV. I never witnessed Billy Mays take drugs, nor has anyone ever reported to me that they saw him doing lines of cocaine. But I was born in the projects, and I know a tweaker when I see one on TV.
