Chubby Guy Offers To Mow Lawns For Free To Lose Weight

Robert Paul Reyes
Most folks lift weights, jog or walk to shed pounds and keep in shape. There is nothing wrong with these forms of exercise, but they are selfish pursuits. You are not accomplishing anything good for humankind by repetitively picking up weights or jogging around a track.

Darrell Nelson of Coon Rapids, Minn. has come up with a unique way to lose weight. Nelson placed an ad on the Web site Craig's List, offering to mow lawns for free. He figures that if he mows a lawn every day, that will help him shed between 30 and 50 pounds.

I say more power to Mr. Nelson, he isn't just walking a treadmill to nowhere, he is losing weight and helping others out in the process.

Nelson is not only losing weight and being a blessing to his neighbors, he is also doing wonders for his love life. All the media attention has resulted in some women asking him out on a date. Women may llike a guy driving a fancy convertible, but they love a dude pushing a funky lawn mower.

I can't stand the self-absorbed men and women in their designer exercise apparel, lifting weights and admiring their sculpted physiques in the mirror. A pudgy Nelson mowing a lawn, clad in his funky sweats, is worth a dozen of those trendy exercise fanatics.

I know several elderly people in my neighborhood who need their lawns mowed, I don't need to lose any weight, but I should offer to cut their grass for free.

I hereby make a commitment to cut my next-door neighbor's grass for free, I'm sure the elderly lady will be grateful.

Nelson's unique way of losing weight will inspire some to lose weight and others to do a good deed.
