Wake Up People

What this congress is trying to do is nothing short of blatant disregard for the taxpayer. Don't forget that Congress works for us { We the people } not the other way around. When the elected officials set out to use or allocate funds for their own personal junkets we have a very serious problem with our legislature. Not only that but this type of behavior has been continuous in legislatures all over the country. Instead of focusing on the main issues of today they provide every possible means to set themselves apart from the public for which they serve. One of the biggest concerns today is the fact that the United States Congress purposely hid funding in a bill that provides them with $130 million of the publics tax revenue for which this Congress is set to purchase two private jets for their own personal use when they could and should buy tickets for regular airlines like the tax paying public does. The recent Pentagon bill was for the funding for military jets but in order for the bill to pass congress, this Congress tacked on the additional $130 million for their own private jets for personal use. This is a blatant act by Congress to misuse the Publics trust. No longer is the legislature regarding the publics welfare on issues for which the were elected to try to resolve; like job creation, Universal Health Care, restoring the nations infrastructure, ensuring the nations energy grid with new technology { solar and wind } and ensuring the nations national security.

It is time now for the nations public to require our elected officials be held accountable for any misuse of the publics tax revenue. If nothing is not done to offset the massive loss of living wage jobs in this country the tax revenue that is generated from incomes will continue to shrink to where this country will not be able to function or survive. We owe it to our ancestors not to let this happen. But the way things are now even the President will be very hard pressed to step in to stop the misuse of the publics trust and the flow of jobs that have been and is continually being eradicated from this country. When we have a legislature that seeks its own agenda instead of the publics needs as we have now we have a recipe for our democratic and the republics failure.

The way to actually achieve accountability from our elected officials is through campaign finance reform where the candidates or elected officials seeking re-election are not succumbed to the pressures of lobbyists or special interest groups that pour millions of dollars into campaign funds. The almost insurmountable amount of funding that is now currently necessary for any one to effectively seek election or re-election is the main reason why there is so much disregard for the general publics welfare. One of the surest ways to eliminate the need of massive funding is to allow any candidate free equal advertising time in all media three months prior to any election. The Media is already able to secure enough sponsers to cover any reduction of profits that they get from the escalated prices they impose on candidates for advertising. This is a win situation for the general public because it gives the majority of citizens the opportunity to run for office that they would not be possibly able to do other-wise because of the vast amount of funds it takes to advertise in any form of media for the purpose of being elected or re-elected.
