WORLD PREMIERE OF A NEPALI MOVIE"KATHMANDU" IN USA

The Sky Movies Pvt. Ltd. is one of the prominent and most outstanding productions a distribution company of Nepalese film Industry. The Sky Movies has already produced quality and hit Nepali Movies in the past. According to Akash Adhikari, founder and president of the sky Movies, they are enthusiastic to produce innovative and quality movies in the Nepali film Industry, He says, "We are here not for producing only commercial Nepali Movies but we focus our tradition, culture, Nepali values and promote it in international level so that we can show and feel proud of our country Nepal".

The founder and proprietor of the Sky Movies Pvt. Ltd Mr. Akash Adhikari is one of the brilliant and committed Youngman who holds a degree in Film acting and direction from Madhumati Institute, University of Bombay, India. So far he has produced, directed and acted in many Nepali movies and written and directed Hindi movies and TV serials as well.

Some of the movies produced by the company are Kathmandu...anything can happen in this city, Gorkha Rakshyak (The Gorkha Protector), Shasan (The Rule), Krodh (The Anger), Ukali Orali (Ups and Down), Ko afno ko birano (Who is Ours and Who is Stranger), Panchhi (The Bird), Daag (Stain Mark), Ranabhoomi (Battle Field), Afnai Janma Bhoomi (Own Birthplace)etc.

The sky Movies has one dream project to produce a film called The Sunrise (Suryodaya) based on one of the rare and most uncommon belief Polyandry. According to one of the Producer of the film Mr. Nabin Ben Adhikari, The film will be based on Polyandry which is still practice in the High Himalayan region of Nepal. He adds the film is for the International Market under the banner of the Sky Movies Pvt. Ltd. Since the movie is in high budget and target for international markets the company welcomes international and National associate to join them as co- producer.

Just few months back the team was here in the USA for the shooting of a movie called Kathmandu and now busy for the world premiere of the movie in Hollywood style( as they assure) at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland, California on October 3rd, 2009 at 6:00 PM. The movie Kathmandu is based on the people having high ambitions who migrate from rural areas to capital city of Nepal for better life style and opportunities, influenced by modern technological advancement the way of changing life style bring lots of ups and down to young generations.

The pinnacle of the film is about the uncertainty of life, that´s why youngsters are vexed and aimless. Most of the youngsters are impatient and they are falling in lots of bad habits. But what are the reasons behind it? Is it due to the lack of opportunities or high competition? Or is it due to modernization and technological development? Or is it simply due to the generation gap or anything else?

Whatever the reasons it could be but the youngsters are prone to smoking, drinking, drugs, sex, discos and parties. They are just lacking behind to find the solutions of existence. In the movie Kathmandu they are entrap into the circumstances where there is no outlet. They are spoiling their lives instead of worrying about their careers and the future of the nation.

Why do they make these things as their part of life?

Who is to blame for this situation - Parents...?

Youngsters...? Civic society...?

Teachers...? Politicians...?

Government...? Or the social structure itself...?

It is expected that the film Kathmandu will be the blockbuster as it is shoot in USA and Nepal and probably for the first time a Hollywood actress Ria Murphy is acting. During the film shooting in US once in a dinner party when I personally met her and asked her views about the film, she was quite excited and thrilled with the concept and expressed her good experience working in Nepal. She is highly influence by the hospitality and helping hand.

She said, "Except language problem I have really great experience working in this film, though we worked day and night and shoot the film 45 days continuously in Nepal. I am really excited to see the result of the film."

Other actors in the film include Akash Adhikari, Gauri Malla, Nabin Ben Adhikari, Sunil Dutt, Samyukta Rana, Mamta Pradhan , Arjun SHrestha , Suresh Adhikari, Sangita Chhetri, Resh Marhatta and many more. As a guest appearance and cameo feature Oscar winner popular singer Sukhbinder Singh, Popular nun and singer Ani Choying Dolma . In the movie there are popular Bollywood singers like Sukhwinder Singh, Aakriti Kankard, Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan, Adhitya Narayan & Sanjivini and Music by Rahul Pradhan and the cinematograph by Dirgha Gurung.

Once in a video interview with Akash Adhikari said, "We are shooting this film with Red Cinema 4 K camera, first time in Nepali Movie and probably even in Bollywood. So the quality of the movie will be great."

Another co – producer of the Movie Ben said, "I am quite so excited to announce that the world premier show will be here in California where I have been live for long time and have good friends; I am feeling proud to reveal that the world premier will be Hollywood style. I am hoping to get lots of support and encouragement from the community as well." He urged all to come, support and watch the premier show. He further says Just come and watch our own Nepali Movie Kathmandu -´because anything can happen in the city'.
