Business Person of the Week: Sue Henderson

What got you started in your profession?

I came to NY to pursue my dream of becoming a fashion model and actress

in 1973. At that time,I had few clues about where and how to start and even

fewer resources to afford me opportunities to find out. Never underestimate the power of one filled to brimming with unjustified confidence.

Somehow I arrived at the Wilhelmina Agency poised and ready to be discovered. The receptionist there took one look at me and without hesitation informed me of my inadequacies; "you are much too old and way too short." I was at that time 24 years old. I remain 5 feet and 7 inches tall. Just as I was about to let loose the tears,a beautiful woman stepped out of her office. She was Wilhelmina Cooper. She invited me into her office and she gave me what I now give others A career consultation. I have never forgotten the impact she had on me and my career by encouraging me to pursue my dreams and by giving me the information I needed to do so.

I vowed to learn everything I could about the entertainment industry so I

could give back down the road! I love NY and all the wonderful restaurants and special entertainment that is here. I hate the noise and crowds.

What are your hobbies?

As for hobbies I love sports and travelling and of course film,tv and theatre. I have lots of special moments from my past but I would say attending the 2008 Baseball All Star Parade with my husband. We were in the front row and could see these heros past and present up close and personal.

That I am a caring giving person who cares about what you want to do and

will help you get there.
