Betty and Barney Hill - A UFO case that still blows the mind

Wendy Garrett
We can continue to try and clean up the gutters all over the world and spend all of our resources looking at just the dirty spots and trying to make them clean. Or we can lift our eyes up and look into the skies and move forward in an evolutionary way. Buzz Aldrin -

Just happened to find out about the recent Mysteries of the Universe Conference in
Kansas City in time to make it to a session.

The line-up caught my attention with high profile presenters, including Larry King/Coast to Coast guest
Stan Romanek. If you haven't heard about Stan, He has a forthcoming book called Messages that details his experiences with UFO and Alien Abductions over the past 7 plus years.

Dr. Jack Kasher, Regional Director of MUFON, planned to speak about Alana Lynn (Lane) Andrews, a woman said to have had several encounters with friendly extraterrestrials who have taken her aboard their craft.

The speaker I had time to connect with was Kathleen Marden, niece of Betty and Barney Hill, one of the most high profile UFO abductions cases in history. Kathleen co-authored CAPTURED! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience along with Stanton Friedman, nuclear physicist/scientific ufologist.

Her background and level of professionalism lend authenticity to her work and her story. From her Bio, she lists a B.A. in social service, with honors, from the University of New Hampshire and participated in graduate studies in education at The University of Cincinnati and U.N.H.;She is also a certified hypnotherapist.

During her fifteen years as an educator, she innovated, designed and implemented model educational programs. She also held a supervisory position, coordinating, training and evaluating education staff. Additionally, she taught adult education classes on UFO and abduction history.

The presentation Kathleen offers gives her audience a peek into the surreal journey taken by Betty and Barney, almost a reenactment of their close encounter – retracing their path and charting the abduction route in New Hampshire's White Mountains. She has made every effort to prove herself a credible resource for information about the Hills and effectively counter critics and skeptics, many of whom accepted misinformation as part of the case against them.

Listening to Kathleen retell the events and share the findings of her own research, it is clear she had first hand knowledge and enough personal contact with her aunt and uncle to determine what information might be lacking and what could be helpful if it were substantiated and fleshed out a bit more.

While the information on Betty and Barney is compelling, even more so, and what Kathleen hints about but didn’t get into during her presentation, is the level of harassment her aunt went through after the details about UFO incident inadvertently became public. It was of such a nature that Kathleen stayed in the house to keep her aunt company and it would appear to have had a human signature.

Underscoring what she meant by harassment, she offered one example and made no effort to hide the fact that  – even after all this time – recall of the event triggers very raw emotion. Kathleen said she startled an intruder in the house who quickly ran out. It was what the intruder left behind that left an ominous wake. A baseball bat.

There is so much more that I would like to have asked Kathleen but I know some of the questions she is still asking herself. There are too many things we don’t know about this topic to assume what we know is definitive. The best we can do is to encourage sharing of information and continue to ask questions of those who might have first hand information.

Details can and do get lost in the retelling. And those that don’t get lost would appear to be, at times, deliberately distorted. Yes, that is an assertion.  Then again, if you ask Kathleen or read her material, note how some of the information was distorted from the beginning.

Question others, question answers and question yourself. Answers shift and change as does the information. But enough details may stand solid to give us a frame of reference so as to offer a better clue to the bigger picture we are not yet able to reduce to a mathematical equation. In questioning, we are learning to ask better questions. And so it goes.

And then realize what we have often identified as empty space or void of matter has the potential to have more life than we can fathom.

A wake up call with nightlights shifted my reality in 1997. I chose to maintain my normal routine but my metaphysical/spiritual connection has intensified to allow me to become more fluent in intuitive readings of people and pets.

The perk? Wherever I am - my nightlights interact/blink for me; 24/7. For whatever reason, a door opened and the super became natural. What an amazing ride - Manifesting, Co-creating, Connecting with the dynamic life force energy of Spirit in all forms.

While each of us resides in a separate physical package, at no time are we alone. When we choose not to talk about and share individual spiritual/paranormal/metaphysical experiences we miss opportunites to discover, explore, and upgrade the hidden aspects of our own innate, creative abilities.

When we are ready to see our own divine nature, we see the light is always on.
