Long Distance Relationships, They Might Not Suit Everyone
For there is nothing as fulfilling as presence. The presence of a certain loved one whom one sees at the end of a long day no matter how good or bad that day must have been. Emails, instant messages, telephone calls old fashioned snail mail letter writing can only do so much.
They all help fill the void of that person who is not present in the physical sense, but when all is said, done, logged out, and one turns out the light for yet one more night and wake up in the morning with just him or herself and no one else, it might make one wonder why he or she gave in to being part of a long distance relationship anyway?
They may have done so because at the time the agreement was made to carry on with a long distance relationship, both parties believed their love for one another would tolerate and withstand all else.
That may have worked for a while, but if one does not have the time and means to visit the other, all the emails, instant messages and multiple telephone calls may not be enough to to salvage what may have started out so well.
For time, basic human needs, wants, desires and distance can take its toll on a person. Not everyone has the stamina and discipline that are required to take on such a challenge.
People should keep an open mind when embarking on such a relationship, no matter how strong the bond of love may seem before parting from one’s loved one at the time.
Even though some of these types of relationships have been known to work well, some have not; high tech communications devices and all, it’s so easy to lose touch.
If one is about to take on such a relationship, think it through and make sure you can cope without that person at your side at all times, no matter what.
