Strange Lights in the Phoenix Sky
I was first contacted by Jeff Woolwine, on April 12, 2006, asking me to take a look at his website. This is very common as new websites come online and their owners/creators seek publicity and promotion by established websites. Most websites are not unique, but copies of older websites often duplicating content including stories, videos and photos. But Jeff's website was unique both in content and style. His website: www.petroglyphsinthesky.com, boasts many photos and videos of strange red lights and bizarre flying objects as well as ancient petroglyphs. (Petroglyph - a carving or line drawing on rock, especially one made by prehistoric people.)
Jeff is an ufologist and amateur archaeologist, and has concluded that there is definitely a connection, cosmic or inter-dimensional, between the lights in the sky and the ancestors of this land. Thousands of years ago the area around Phoenix was inhabited by the Hohokom, a Hopi Indian tribe, whose name literally means "the people who vanished."
According to Jeff , "The rock art consists of circles with dots, shaped crosses, and spirals. In some traditions the spirals mean the circle of life, but I believe that on South Mountain it means a vortex or door to the underworld. I truly believe that the rock art was made for this generation to figure out."
And, "One example was on a rock panel I found that had circles with dots in the formation of a triangle; just like the objects I had filmed in the sky, there are also barbell carvings on the mountain. Could a barbell have been seen the sky back then?"
Jeff has had many years of experience seeing UFOs. He states that, "For years now, I have been seeing strange objects over my head and having my friends tell me that I am crazy. It made me start hunting these objects form some kind of answers. And I believe I have put the puzzle together a little bit."
He is an Arizona native but has traveled around the United States living in many places.
He saw his first sighting happened on November 11, 2000, when he was in a friend's backyard when about 4:30 p.m. he heard a helicopter heading his way. He recognized it as the sheriff's helicopter and it was close enough to see that he saw the Sheriff's star and could read the lettering on the craft.
He then an airplane and describes the scene like this, "I noticed a white airplane that seemed to be right in the path of the sheriff. The sheriff was not moving out of the way of the airplane and it looked like they were going to crash until the airplane gave in and made a sharp turn to the right. As the sheriff was turning south, that's when I looked up and saw a long white hazy tube."
Jeff adds, "It looked like a cigar or cigarette. It seemed the sheriff's helicopter was escorting the craft around. The craft was silent-no sound-no wings ,no tail. As the craft went south, so did the sheriff. When they were turning together, I noticed that the craft seemed to shrink as it turned. It went from bigger than the sheriff to a small white ball as it turned south. I could see the chopper, but not the tube."
Jeff was living in New York City when he and his son decided to head West and they stopped in Phoenix to visit friends. While in the backyard of one of them he once again was confronted with objects in the sky. It was 2003 and he decided to stay to study and document UFOs and other aerial phenomenon. He purchased a good video camera, found an apartment with a view of the mountains and settled in. He was on a mission and his quest was to discover the truth behind the strange lights in the sky.
Jeff has promised to share his discoveries with us. Visit his website and watch his video and see his photographs. You won't be disappointed.
